Why do I watch this garbage???

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Decided to try out Celebrity Apprentice again! (WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF?) I’m really disappointed with the female cast. They just don’t seem very strong, and are lesser know. Anyway, got through the FIRST episode (a week late) and wasn’t surprised to see what a doofus the Rod B. is. In fact, most the episode he spent saying how he was going to right the wrongs, and how he was innocent, and joked about phone taps (as did most his teammates), and was kinda campaigning. Dude, you’re not in Illinois…they don’t care. And then, when the Don calls him out for not doing his job, he suddenly doesn’t recall that situation, and tries to scoot around the issue. Like we didn’t see this from him before. Good riddance Illinois. He won’t last long on the show either; just doesn’t fit in or have the same work ethics. Definitely more of a personal agenda for him. And the girls are doomed. Cyndi should have gone home. Heck, she didn’t even understand that someone would be fired. What did you think you signed up for??? Earth to Cindy. Instead, they fire their creative. And go figure…next week’s task is…CREATIVE! Ironic. I figured Sharon would be more vocal. I hope more is to come from her. She’s a pitbull…watchout! Will I watch the rest of the season? Kinda have to now, right? I just appreciate the Don making the personal donation to the loser’s charity. That’s a first. He gets points for that!

Clean Out Your Computer Day

Friday, February 12th, 2010

If your computer is at least a couple years old, chances are it runs horribly slow, or at least much slower than it used to. THANKFULLY, one day a year is celebrated as “Clean Out Your Computer Day,” as this year’s was Monday, Feb. 8. Here’s some things you should do at least once a year, that are recommended by the Institute for Business Technology. (By the way, doesn’t HAVE TO be done on “Clean Out Your Computer Day”)

- Get rid of your old programs. You can use the free “Revo Uninstaller” to really get rid of em (bit better job than uninstall wizard does)

- Back-up your documents and photos, then run a hard-drive clean-up program like CCleaner

- Do you know how many programs are running right now, and start running as soon as you start up your machine? Might surprise you. In fact, you can see them all in the taskbar, all the way to the right. Use “Windows Startup Inspector” to disable the ones you don’t need/want.

- Defrag the harddrive. Go to the start menu, all programs, accessories, and system tools

-Literally clean it out, by opening it up, and gently vacuuming out the dust. Do the same over the keyboard.

All these might just help you out, especially if done annually. Good Luck!

13 (+1) Things You Should Keep In Your Car

Monday, January 25th, 2010

This morning I gave a list of 13 things you should have in your car at all times, in case of an emergency. And your calls came in instantly, wanting a copy of the list. Also had a call with another idea of something to keep in the car. So here it is.

1) A fully charged cell phone. Even if it’s an old phone which no longer has service, if it’s fully charged, it can call 911. Pull out the old bag phone if you want!

2) Jumper Cables

3) Flashlight

4) Roadside flares / reflective triangle

5) Sustainable food (ie: granola bars/power bars)

6) FRESH Water bottles. Need to be rotated out often, especially in summer.

7) Warm blankets
8) Ice scraper

9) First aid kit

10) Tow strap

11) Folding shovel

12) LifeHammer

13) Portable air compressor

14) kitty litter (helps give you traction in icy situations)

You can buy kits that’ll have most of these. However, for best quality, it’s recommended that you assemble your own kit.

Great minds think alike

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

How many times have you tuned into the radio and wanted to hit rewind to hear what they were talking about, or if there was something you missed, or wanted to hear again? Well months ago, I mentioned that to my wife, that there should be a TIVO for radio. She laughed me off, more or less with a “Who would want that?” Then this morning, out of the blue, Jeff comes up with the same idea! Ya know what they say, after you’ve been together so long, you start thinking the same….
So what do you think? Should this be a standard in cars? Would you be willing to pay a bit extra for it?

Ever had to leave a message on a cell phone? Of course you have. And it takes forever to get through all those directions. So here’s a tip! Simply record “Hi, this is (your name). Press (read below) to leave a message.”

If you have AT&T, say “0″
If you have Sprint, say “1″
If Verizon, say “*”
If T-Mobile, say “#”
This will skip all those instruction, go strait to the beep, and make everyone happier!

What if the movie “UP” was a true story?
